From 3rd October 2018 to 15th October 2018, the ‘Junior Friends of Dothill Local Nature Reserve’, based at ‘Dothill Primary School’, will be collecting stones and painting them, with pictures of the animals and plants found at ‘Dothill Local Nature Reserve’. Each pebble will be numbered, to identify which child painted that stone.
On the morning of Tuesday 16th October, all the painted stones will be given to ‘The Senior Friends of Dothill Local Nature Reserve’. They will hide them, within about half a mile of the School, but within the Reserve. You can come along and help them to do this. We start at 9.30am, meeting outside the school gates and finish at midday.
In the afternoon, the children challenge their parents/ grandparents, to join them, in finding the painted stone, of their child and bring it back to school.
On the following day, 17th October 2018, the children will then stick their stones, on a previously created fixture, in the shape of a map of ‘ The Dothill Local Nature Reserve’. They will be helped in this by, ‘The Senior Friends of Dothill Local Nature Reserve’ and any parent/ grandparent, who wishes to help out. Creating a permanent art feature of the reserve and some of the animals and plants found within it.
This challenge will also form part of the ‘Walking to School Initiative’. It is also part of the Telford 50 years celebrations.
