ABOUT WELLINGTON WALKERS ARE WELCOME
Wellington, in Shropshire, was awarded the Walkers are Welcome (WaW) status in June 2010.
We have two aims, to promote the interests of local walkers in Wellington, and to promote Wellington to walkers elsewhere. As well as belonging to the national network of WaW Towns, we belong to a regional grouping of WaW towns in or adjacent to the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Locally, as well as being represented on the Local Access Forum and getting involved in physical path work, we organise a twice-monthly walk and an annual walking festival.
The first, very successful, Wellington Walking Festival was held on October 6th and 7th 2012, we have held festivals each year since and our next one is from 10th – 16th September 2018.
